Dr. Janice Martin became a part of the PCS team in 1993, subsequent to completing her residency at Children's Mercy in Kansas City. Interestingly, she and Dr. Schloegel shared the same residency class during their training. Originating from Cape Girardeau, MO, Dr. Martin pursued her education through the accelerated six-year BA/MD program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC).

Throughout her career, Dr. Martin has derived great satisfaction from guiding her patients through the myriad phases of development, from infancy to young adulthood. One of the highlights of her vocation is the privilege of caring for the newborns of her once-young patients.

Her husband is an OB/GYN based in Overland Park, and together they are the proud parents of two grown daughters who have made their homes in Utah and Portugal, respectively. The couple shares their home with two adopted dogs, Lola and Beignet, who bring joy and liveliness in the absence of their children.

Dr. Martin is an enthusiast of the culinary arts, both in cooking and enjoying fine dining, as well as a hostess who loves to entertain. Her other leisure activities include travel and skiing (which she humbly admits to not being particularly skilled at), alongside reading and spending cherished moments with her friends and family.
