What if you are delivering at a hospital to which we do not go?

Please call us as soon as you know you're headed home so we can arrange your baby's first appointment.

We generally see babies in our office 1-2 days after they are discharged from the hospital. Please bring any paperwork given on discharge to your first visit. This may include your baby's birth weight, discharge weight, screening results and any other information provided.

This can help us learn about the hospital stay and continue care most effectively.

When you register at the hospital be sure to let them know we will be your child's pediatrician. The hospital will then make sure to notify us after the baby is delivered. One of our physicians will round each morning in the hospital to check on your baby, see how feeding is going, treat most problems that arise and discuss any concerns you may have.

Just a few things to add...

  • Please contact your insurance company and add your newborn to your insurance policy. This will greatly speed up the registration process at office. While most insurance companies allow you 30-days to add your new baby, adding your baby early will help avoid any out-of-pocket expenses.
  • Please bring any paperwork from the hospital, including hearing screen results and immunization records.
  • Make sure to bring available insurance information (often only the parent’s insurance is available at the first visit).
  • Please complete the new patient registration prior to the visit to help make the appointment as smooth as possible. A link to the registration forms should be sent to you via text/email prior to your appointment.
