  • What is anxiety?

    Children and adolescents may exhibit symptoms of anxiety in many different ways, including difficulty sleeping, agitation, avoiding or refusing school or social situations, negative behavior, outbursts, fear of separation from a loved one, or experiencing an illness that is not there.

  • What is depression?

    Children and adolescents may exhibit symptoms of anxiety in many different ways, including difficulty sleeping, agitation, avoiding or refusing school or social situations, negative behavior, outbursts, fear of separation from a loved one, or experiencing an illness that is not there.

  • When should my child be seen?

    Anxiety and depression may present with a range of symptoms and require individualized care. Please call our triage nurses to discuss if your child needs to be seen or referred to a specialist. If you feel that your child is suicidal, please call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255, availabe 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If they are in immediate danger, please call 911.

  • How are these treated?

    Each child will receive a patient centered plan of treatment that may include Behavioral Cognitive Therapy, family therapy, medications, exercise and lifestyle changes, as well as scheduled follow up visits with your physician.
