Adolescent Physicals

  • What is an adolescent physical?

Seeing your adolescent yearly is very important. Teens are presented with difficult decisions every day. Counseling during this visit is vital as they grow and change quickly. We will also update necessary immunizations at this visit.

  • Why is the parent asked to leave the room?

Our physicians may request to speak with your child privately at some point in the visit to discuss things they are afraid or embarrassed to speak about in front of their parents. Teens should know that their physician is trustworthy. We respect if a parent does not want to leave the room, or if the teen prefers the parent stay with them.

  • What is my child is sick during their physical?

If your teen is ill during a well visit or there is an issue that requires extra time, please call and discuss with a triage nurse prior to your visit. More than likely, we will still see your teen even if they are ill.
